Survey Responses

As candidates, you get a lot of surveys, requests for meetings, and forums. To date, our team has completed more than thirty (30) surveys and fulfilled a number of commitments for meetings and forums, which offer opportunities to build bridges with different organizations, ask questions, and sometimes, engage in a dialogue.

I recognize that it is a tremendous amount of work for the organizers to put these surveys together, reach out to candidates, collect and curate the information, and then disseminate the responses back to the community. They are also a lot of work for candidates and their campaign teams. For each response, we debate, research, write, and rewrite, and don’t take every question lightly or for granted.

Surveys often ask questions to get at the heart of issues that are incredibly complex. While many of the surveys ask thoughtful questions, with open-ended options that allow us candidates to offer ideas, share experiences, and clarify nuances, the multiple choice nature of many others tend to be very black and white, and do not always open up conversations, which unfortunately can further polarize some of the issues.

Nevertheless, information is power. To learn where I stand on many issues, including ones that are not explicitly stated in our platform, we’ve put every publicly available survey we have completed in one spot. If you have a question about why I answered a question the way I did, feel free to reach out, and I will be happy to connect, share, and learn from each other.
